Within the collaborative marketing project “Research in Germany”, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) presented Germany’s manifold research and funding opportunities at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly. The event was held in Vienna from April 22-27, 2012, where more than 11.000 scientists gathered to present their research and to exchange views in the wide field of geosciences, environmental sciences and water research.

From March 29 to 31, 2012, the second international research alumni meeting - held as part of a joint research marketing campaign carried out by major German research (funding) organisations - took place in Gurgaon, New Delhi Capital Region. Invited by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, about 60 research alumni from various German research funding and research performing institutions attended the conference “New Frontiers: Shifting Trends in the Global Research Landscape and their Impact on Researchers’ Career Patterns”.
