Fourth thematic campaign started in autumn 2011!

Medical technology development in Germany has generally followed a dynamic trend and the field is well positioned internationally both in terms of research and industrial implementation. This is an innovative sector with future potential that makes a major contribution to the provision of better medical care for the population, meaning it is regarded as very important for society as a whole. The sector is also responsible for creating jobs and promoting prosperity.

Within the context of the initiative "Promote Innovation and Research in Germany" the field of medical technology has been selected for the fourth thematic campaign. The campaign started in autumn 2011.

Search for Companies & Research Institutes

German companies in this sector have a turnover of about 12 billion Euro and employ about 85,000 employees. They are thus the third largest provider of medical technology products, after the United States and Japan.
