VBU is an federation of companies and institutions active in the fields of biotechnology and related sectors, such as pharmaceutical technology, diagnostics, medical and laboratory technology. VBU is the active interface between companies, scientific research institutions and networks, providing a platform for cooperation, communication and information.

Check out biotechnologie.de! The extensive database can be searched for biotech clusters or a specific biotech region in Germany. The search result lists the various biotech clusters/regions and briefly describes their objectives, motivations and collaborating partners.

What’s up with biotechnology in Germany? Biotechnologie.de provides extensive information on institutes and companies, on grants and funding, and also delivers a set of statistics.

As the sector association of the biotechnology industry, BIO Deutschland, has over 260 members. It is run by a board of ten members consisting of CEOs and managing directors of biotechnology companies, as well as directors of BioRegions. This committee comprehensively represents the various fields in the sector.

The Research Explorer is a joint project of the DFG (German Research Foundation) and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The database contains over 17,000 institutes at German universities plus non-university research institutions, searchable by name, geographic location, subject and other criteria.
