A total of 17 companies and institutions from the state of Baden-Württemberg are sharing a stand at CeBIT 2010 to present their current product trends and innovative services to an expert international audience in the Public Sector Parc (Hall 9, Stand C40). This platform provides an excellent opportunity to establish long-term business contacts, especially for SMEs from Southwest Germany.
IT services for the public sector – a market with exciting potential – are a special focus of the exhibition stand organised by Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) and MFG Baden-Württemberg. High-tech association BITKOM expects the public sector in particular to be a major source of further momentum for the IT industry in 2010.Solutions for optimised and efficient administrative processes featured on the joint stand are provided by exhibitors such as cit GmbH, Datenzentrale Baden-Württemberg, the Baden-Württemberg Finance Ministry and Ministry of the Interior, as well as T-Systems Enterprise Services GmbH.
The importance of CeBIT for Baden-Württemberg as a business location is further underlined by the fact that both Minister President Stefan Mappus and Minister for Economic Affairs Ernst Pfister will be visiting the Baden-Württemberg stand and also taking in other exhibitors from Southwest Germany. They will obtain first-hand insights into current trends and developments in information and communications technology (ICT) from the companies and institutions themselves on Thursday, 4 March 2010.
"ICT services continue to grow in importance. Baden-Württemberg’s SMEs in particular offer outstanding solutions for organising business processes more efficiently and securely. The companies and institutions represented on the stand highlight the extent of Baden-Württemberg's innovative prowess in the field of IT," say MFG CEO Klaus Haasis and Herbert Bossinger, CEO of Baden-Württemberg International.
Organised by MFG Baden-Württemberg and Baden-Württemberg International, the shared Baden-Württemberg stand has been a fixture at CeBIT for some ten years. A number of exhibitors from previous years such as AEG – Gesellschaft für moderne Informationssysteme mbH, the Duden publishing group, IT research centre FZI, the Sphinx Group and T-Systems Individual Desktop Solutions GmbH again have a presence in 2010. This year there are also five new exhibitors on the stand: BWG Informationssysteme GmbH, chocoBRAIN GmbH & Co. KG, ITOMIG GmbH, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Justice, and Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH.
The following events on the Baden-Württemberg stand will provide ample opportunities for sharing ideas and networking with industry players:
- Location presentation at the invitation of the Minister for Economic Affairs, Ernst Pfister, followed by a stand-up reception on Thursday, 4 March 2010, from 12:00 midday to 1:45 p.m.
- "Public Sector" happy hour on Wednesday, 3 March 2010, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The happy hour is a valuable opportunity to meet potential business and cooperation partners in a relaxed atmosphere, make new contacts and exchange views with decision-makers and IT managers from Baden-Württemberg’s local authorities and regions.
The shared Baden-Württemberg stand is also a point of contact for students and job candidates with technical qualifications who want to find out about career opportunities in the IT sector or other technical fields.
